Cut: Rare Carat Ideal

5/5

You’ve selected a 7.00 carat marquise lab diamond. 0% of our users choose marquise diamonds. Learn more about them here.

Cut is the most important factor. When an experienced gemologist picks up a diamond grading report, their eyes go to very specific values. They are looking to see if these fall within the desired ranges. Seemingly unimportant values like the depth percentage have a large effect on how your diamond will sparkle - and these values differ for each shape.

Follow the checklist prepared by our gemologists to see how your diamond fares. If it misses by a little bit on one or two, that’s fine, but we recommend trying to find a stone that passes on all:

Good

Very Good

Excellent

Your diamond

Rare Carat Ideal

Property	Target	Diamond
Symmetry	Very Good or better	Excellent
Polish	Very Good or better	Excellent
Girdle Thickness	Thin to Very Thick	M. Thick
Table	53% - 63%	59.0%
Depth	58% - 65%	62.4%

Color: D

3/3

Your 7.00 carat marquise lab diamond is graded D color (Colorless), and you can read more about D color diamonds here.

Color is graded beginning with D (Colorless). Learn more about diamond color here. The market prices colorless diamonds higher as they are rarer, but some people prefer warmer colored stones.

Our gemologists check for following color issues before recommending a diamond:

(K-Z)

(G-J)

Your diamond

(D-F)

Property	Target	Diamond
Color	K-D	D
Artificial Treatment	No	No
Fluorescence Color	None or Blue	None
Fluorescence Strength	Faint or less	None

Clarity: VVS2

7/7

Your 7.00 carat marquise lab diamond is graded VVS2 clarity, which stands for Very Very Slightly Included 2. Read more about VVS2 clarity diamonds here, or learn more about diamond clarity in general here.

There are minimum clarities our gemologists prefer for each shape, but beyond that clarity is a matter of budget and preference. People typically aim for an eye clean stone. Also, our gemologists have certain deal-breakers when it comes to clarity. For example, our gemologists always avoid stones with a cavity, because with one wrong hit your diamond can crack.

Use the checklist below to ensure your diamond passes. Consult us before purchasing to see if any other nuanced issues are present:

SI2-SI1

VS2-VS1

Your diamond

VVS2-VVS1

IF-FL

Property	Target	Diamond
Clarity	SI1 or above	VVS2
Cavity	No	No
Chip	No	No
Knot	No	No
Laser Hole	No	No
Etch Channel	No	No
Patch	No	No

Diamond Size: 7.00 Carat

A diamond's carat weight is determined by its size, with larger diamonds weighing more. Learn more about carat here.

However, it's important to note that carat weight is not the same as size, as other factors such as depth and shape can also impact how large a diamond appears.

The ring is beautiful! Easy to order from, great customer service. Will have to have it sized down but the packaging that the ring came in has sizers along with the authenticity paperwork.

I did a lot did a lot of research on lab grown diamonds. Rare Carat, and the company that puts the ring together and inspects it. I am very happy with the experience and the product. The service was great and I was able to track the progress easily. The ring is absolutely beautiful. The only negative is that the diamond was a little loose in the setting. We took it to a local jeweler who fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Cannot say enough about Mia and her patience with me. I ordered a custom ring though her, had to switch the design after production began and she was still able to meet the deadline. The ring came out perfect and even better than i expected it to. Mia was very responsive and transparent with what she can offer and do for me. I will definitely be shopping here again!

Great experience. I was able to research and pick from a ton of different diamonds; size, shape, cut, color, everything. Was able to narrow it down till I picked the one that I thought she would love. Then, had no idea how many different ring settings I would have to choose from. Started not knowing what I exactly was looking for and ended with exactly what I was looking for. Made for a great 25th Anniversary.

The Rare Carat Team is amazing to work with. The website make choosing your ring style, diamond and overall finish super easy. They always have amazing deals and prices available, and the post order follow ups are top notch. I realized after I placed my order that I forgot to get the free engraving. This was over a week after I placed the order. One simple email question to the team and they added my engraving for me! Start to finish - it was a truly amazing experience purchasing a beautiful engagement ring for my future wife!
