All About Rare Carat

Buying a diamond engagement ring from the US and shipping to Canada

Shipping to Canada

A warm hello to our neighbors from across the border ?? We’re down to visit, but only between June and July.

If you’re new to us – we’re a search engine that helps you search across jewelers, who are mainly US-based. (We don’t sell diamonds ourselves.)

Why do we do it? Transparent competition allows you to get the best value for your buck, eh.

The good news is that all of our diamond retailers with the exception of Brilliant Carbon will definitely ship from the US to Canada. Hundreds from the Great White North have bought from our retailers.

A few questions that often come up:

1.    Why can’t I see prices in CAD?

Each retailer has their own exchange rate and may change over time. The prices you see displayed are in USD - you’d have to check with each retailer on what their rate is.

2.    Do I have to pay customs, duties, etc.?

Jewelry: With effect from July 1, 2020 the US-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) Trade Agreement exempted duties on jewelry made/assembled in the USA. There will be no duties for jewelry that is made in the USA. Jewelers on Rare Carat all assemble their rings in the USA.

Loose Diamonds: The Canadian Customs Tarrif Act exempted duties on sales/shipping of loose (unmounted) diamonds.

Note: You will be responsible for clearing the package through the border as the receiver.

3.    How do I know which retailers ship to Canada?

All of them do with the exception of Brilliant Carbon.

4.    Are there extra shipping costs on my purchase?

We have a free shipping policy for all purchases on Rare Carat.

5. What is the return policy?

6. What are the payment options?
