Certification & Report
Cut:
You’ve selected a 2.67 carat Round lab diamond. 0% of our users choose round diamonds. Learn more about them here.
Cut is the most important factor. When an experienced gemologist picks up a diamond grading report, their eyes go to very specific values. They are looking to see if these fall within the desired ranges. Seemingly unimportant values like the depth percentage have a large effect on how your diamond will sparkle - and these values differ for each shape.
Follow the checklist prepared by our gemologists to see how your diamond fares. If it misses by a little bit on one or two, that’s fine, but we recommend trying to find a stone that passes on all:
Property | Target | Diamond |
---|---|---|
Cut | Excellent | Excellent |
Symmetry | Very Good or better | Excellent |
Polish | Very Good or better | Excellent |
Girdle Percentage | 2.5% - 4% | 3.5% |
Girdle Thickness | Thin to Thick | M. Sli. Thick |
Table | 54% - 60% | 55.0% |
Depth | 59% - 63% | 62.3% |
Crown Angle | 33° - 35° | 34.5° |
Color:
Your 2.67 carat Round lab diamond is graded D color (Colorless), and you can read more about D color diamonds here.
Color is graded beginning with D (Colorless). Learn more about diamond color here. The market prices colorless diamonds higher as they are rarer, but some people prefer warmer colored stones.
Our gemologists check for following color issues before recommending a diamond:
Property | Target | Diamond |
---|---|---|
Color | K-D | D |
Artificial Treatment | No | No |
Fluorescence Color | None or Blue | None |
Fluorescence Strength | Faint or less | None |
Clarity:
Your 2.67 carat Round lab diamond is graded VVS1 clarity, which stands for Very Very Slightly Included 1. Read more about VVS1 clarity diamonds here, or learn more about diamond clarity in general here.
There are minimum clarities our gemologists prefer for each shape, but beyond that clarity is a matter of budget and preference. People typically aim for an eye clean stone. Also, our gemologists have certain deal-breakers when it comes to clarity. For example, our gemologists always avoid stones with a cavity, because with one wrong hit your diamond can crack.
Use the checklist below to ensure your diamond passes. Consult us before purchasing to see if any other nuanced issues are present:
Property | Target | Diamond |
---|---|---|
Clarity | SI2 or above | VVS1 |
Cavity | No | No |
Chip | No | No |
Knot | No | No |
Laser Hole | No | No |
Etch Channel | No | No |
Patch | No | No |

Sept 2025, this is my review for my recently purchased KEHLANI SOLITAIRE with a 1.01ct Natural Asscher Diamond in 14kt White Gold. Everything with this piece of Jewelry is right! The "sales team" was engaged in my purchase making several great suggestions. The 14kt "Kehlani" setting is a nice men's ring and catches your eye quite nicely. The sweet spot for my Diamond was 1ct plus, and with suggestions from the sales team, I selected a 1.01ct Asscher Natural Diamond which is absolutely stunning. We feel like Rare Carat saved us several thousand dollars over the "Big Rock Box Stores". The Final Purchase, Shipping and the wait time was all super reasonable with Rare Carat folks keeping in touch by email through the entire process. I am definitely sharing this with my friends and look forward to our next purchase, "It Was Cool". Thank you.

Extremely pleased with rare carat and their services. They were so helpful and responsive to help me get my dream ring just in time for my engagement deadline. I was helped by so many of their employees and the ring was absolutely stunning. 5/5 would recommend that you get your ring from them!
What a great buying experience for an online retailer. They helped me to find a slightly larger stone for the engagement ring I purchased at the same price during the checkout process and the representative that I was chatting with, Nixon, even gave me a couple of great ideas on how to pop the question. I don't make a lot of jewelry purchases, but I'll be sure to head back to Rare Carat when I do.
I just purchased my wife's 11 year upgrade/30th birthday wedding ring from Nixon. I was referred by my brother in law who personally bought my sisters engagement and wedding rings through this site. The customer service was amazing. I got multiple opinions from gemologists on one diamond i had my eye on, as well as a couple others. My diamond had "strong" fluorescence which worried me. The gemologist reached out to Rya Diamonds who then send them a fluorescence test and video of my actual diamond! I was shocked they go to such great lengths. I even spoke with Ajay the CEO about my hesitations with buying through Rare Carat vs Costco, where I bought my wife's first engagement ring and wedding band. The prices and options spoke for themselves. Nixon was so helpful in creating my order and doing all the work for me. 11/10 experience. Just for reference i bought a 1.73 natural diamond with better specs than Costco's diamonds for a few thousand less than Costco's comparable diamond.
